Pre-Export Verification of Conformity to Standards (PVoC) tender job at Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS)

Pre-Export Verification of Conformity to Standards (PVoC) is a conformity assessment program applied to products covered by compulsory Uganda Standards at the exporting countries. It ensures compliance with Uganda Standards before shipment. EAA is one of the service providers contracted by Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) for inspection of used motor vehicles in Japan, UAE, UK, Singapore, and South Africa.

The Pre-Export Verification of Conformity (PVoC) Program operates under the authority of the Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS), which was established by the UNBS Act, CAP 327. This Act empowers UNESCO to develop, promote, and enforce standards to protect public health safety, and the environment, while also safeguarding consumers against substandard goods.

In addition, the Inspection and Clearance of Imports Regulations, 2022 require that all imports subject to compulsory standards must undergo conformity assessment before entering Uganda.

Motor Vehicle Inspection Process

1. Purchase the used motor vehicle or related equipment.

2. Obtain contacts of appointed PVoC Service Providers through the UNBS website.

3. Select EAA via https://www.eaa-s.jp/ or exporter may contact us directly.

4. Request inspection through the service provider.

5. Deliver vehicle/equipment to inspection center (Uganda Standard US 845:2017).

6. If compliant, a Certificate of Roadworthiness (CRW) or Certificate of Conformity (CoC) is issued.

7. Non-conforming vehicles/equipment receive a Non-Conformity Report (NRC) and cannot be shipped.
