JOB DETAILS:

Key Outputs (Responsibilities):
1. Enforce law and order.
2. Protect life and property.
3. Preserve law and order.
4. Prevent and detect crime.
5. Perform any other duties assigned by the Inspector General of Police.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Citizenship: Must be a Ugandan citizen with a valid National ID or Confirmation of Information on the Register letter from NIRA.
2. Criminal Record: Must have no criminal record.
3. Training: Must be ready to undertake Police Basic Training.
4. Physical and Medical Fitness: Must be physically and medically fit.
5. Work Conditions: Must be ready to work long hours, sometimes under difficult conditions, and in any part of the country.
6. Communication Skills: Must possess good communication skills.
7. Service History: Must not be a serving or former officer in other forces.
Educational Requirements:
• UCE Certificate or its equivalent obtained in a sitting not earlier than 2020, with:
o Traditional Grading System: At least 4 credits, including English or Mathematics, and a pass in the other subject.
o Competency-Based System: At least 4 "C" grades, including English or Mathematics, and a "D" grade in the other subject.

Job application procedure
1. Application Format: Handwritten applications addressed to the Inspector General of Police.
2. Required Documents:
o Photocopies of academic documents.
o Photocopy of the National Identity Card.
o Three (3) recent passport-sized photographs.
o Identity Card or Introductory letter from the previous school.
o Recommendation letters from LCI, LCIII, and RDC (from the applicant’s district of residence).
3. Submission: Deliver the application folder to the Police District/Divisional Headquarters by Friday, 21st March 2025.
Important Notes:
1. Impersonation or Forgery: Impersonation or presentation of forged documents will lead to arrest and prosecution.
2. False Information: Applicants who provide false information will be disqualified.
3. Appointment: Appointment is contingent upon the successful completion of Police Basic Training.
4. Encouragement for Females: Female candidates are encouraged to apply.
5. Driving Permit: Possession of a valid driving permit is an added advantage.
6. Higher Qualifications: Applicants with higher academic qualifications should not apply.
7. No Fees: The recruitment process is completely free of charge. Applicants should not pay any money to anyone for services during the recruitment process.
