Job Purpose: To manage the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of quality goods, services, and inputs required for farm operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and procurement regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source and evaluate suppliers for farm inputs (e.g., seeds, fertilizers, feed), equipment, and services.
- Prepare and issue Requests for Quotations (RFQs) and Purchase Orders (LPOs).
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to achieve best value.
- Ensure timely delivery of all purchased items to the requesting departments.
- Maintain an up-to-date supplier database and foster strong vendor relationships.
- Monitor inventory levels of key supplies and coordinate with warehouse staff.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and ethical standards.
- Assist in the disposal of obsolete or surplus assets as per guidelines.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Supplies Chain Management, Procurement, or related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., CIPS) is an added advantage.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a procurement role, preferably in agriculture.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- High level of integrity and ethical conduct.
