Job Summary

A salon business operating at Bishop Stuart University is seeking a creative, skilled, and customer-oriented Professional Hairstylist. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality hair styling, cutting, and treatment services to the university student community, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• Hair Styling & Designing: Perform a wide range of hair styling techniques including braiding, weaving, plaiting, locks maintenance, washing, and chemical treatments (relaxing/coloring).
• Client Consultation: Advise clients on suitable hairstyles, hair care routines, and product choices based on their hair texture and preferences.
• Trend Tracking: Stay updated with the latest hair trends, cuts, and modern styling techniques preferred by campus students and corporate staff.
• Hygiene & Maintenance: Keep the salon station clean, sanitize styling tools regularly, and maintain high standards of personal and environmental hygiene.
• Customer Service: Welcome clients warmly, manage appointments efficiently, and ensure a friendly and professional service environment.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Skills: Proven, practical expertise in handling various hair types and complex styling requests.
• Experience: Previous experience working in a busy salon environment is highly desirable.
• Location Advantage: Proximity to Mbarara or willingness to work directly within the Bishop Stuart University campus area.
• Attributes: Excellent interpersonal skills, reliability, high creativity, and a fast working pace.
