Job Summary

Our client seeks an experienced Quarry Equipment Maintenance Mechanic to lead and manage the maintenance operations

 of a busy quarry site, ensuring maximum equipment uptime, safety compliance, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned mechanical professional with over 10 years of hands-on experience in servicing, repairing, and overhauling quarry machinery in high-output environments (5,000–10,000 tons per day).

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance & Repair

  • Lead preventive and corrective maintenance programs for quarry equipment including drilling rigs, excavators, mobile crushers, wheel loaders, tipper trucks, generators, and related accessories.
  • Overhaul, repair, and refurbish major components to extend machine life and optimize performance.
  • Commission new machinery and ensure proper integration into quarry operations.
  • Maintain organized documentation for all maintenance activities and apply data analysis to drive continuous improvement.

 Quarry Operations Support

  • Ensure safe and efficient operation of machinery for drilling, blasting, crushing, loading/offloading, and hauling materials.
  • Monitor weighing processes and enforce safe haulage practices.
  • Support production teams in achieving throughput targets while minimizing downtime.

Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)

  • Implement and enforce HSE protocols, including risk assessments, emergency response, incident management, and permit-to-work systems.
  • Promote a safety-first culture within the maintenance and operations teams.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Supervise, mentor, and coach a team of mechanics and technicians, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work culture.
  • Plan, organize, and execute maintenance activities efficiently, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Manage maintenance budgets and control costs effectively.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

Education & Training

  • Completed secondary school education.
  • Certificate or certification in Mechanical, Automotive, or Plant Mechanics from a recognized technical institution or major dealership training school (minimum 3-year apprenticeship program).

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in quarry/mine operations (preferably in a multicultural environment) with high daily throughput (5,000–10,000 tons).
  • Proven expertise in maintaining and repairing heavy quarry machinery and equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and manage a comprehensive maintenance function.

  • Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective leadership, communication, and team management abilities.
  • High level of organization, attention to detail, and time management.
  • Ability to work under pressure while delivering quality results.
