About the Role
Mildmay Hospital Uganda is seeking a qualified and dedicated Radiographer to join its medical team. The successful candidate will support the Radiography Unit by providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services that are safe, timely, and cost-effective. This role contributes directly to patient care and clinical outcomes through accurate imaging, performed in accordance with institutional policies and professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Radiological Imaging Services
- Perform and deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging services for both general and private clients to support clinical decision-making.
- Operational Efficiency
- Support the effective day-to-day running of the radiography unit, ensuring adherence to schedules, minimizing downtime, and coordinating with clinicians.
- Resource Management
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of radiological equipment and materials, minimizing waste and maximizing equipment uptime.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Adhere to all standard operating procedures and safety protocols.
- Ensure compliance with national health and radiation safety regulations.
- Team Collaboration
- Actively collaborate with the clinical team to provide timely diagnostic information and participate in multidisciplinary care.
Qualifications & Requirements
- A Diploma in Radiography or Medical Imaging from a recognized institution.
- Valid registration and practicing license with the Allied Health Professionals’ Council.
- At least 2 years of practical experience in radiology and/or sonography.
- Experience in dark room management and image processing.
- Knowledge of HIV/AIDS care is an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of the laws and safety regulations governing the use of radiation.
- Familiarity with imaging equipment, relevant software, and standard medical imaging terminology.
