Job Purpose
To carry out registration and related services in line with the mandate of URSB.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
-
- Registering copyright works and rights, assignments, and licenses; and related contracts, agreements or documentation
- Maintaining and updating the registry database to ensure accuracy and accessibility of records.
- Implementing laws, policies and guidelines to enhance the registration process.
- Supporting the administration of registration laws, policies, standards and guidelines.
- Attending to queries from interested persons on all registrations in conformity and compliance with statutory requirements.
- Assessing and managing the collection of non-tax revenue accruing from registrations.
- Conducting hearings and issuing decisions in disputes in issues regarding the registration of copyright works and rights.
- Issuing enforcement orders on behalf of the Registrar.
- Providing technical advice to the public on the general aspects of the registration processes.
Person Specifications
Academic Qualifications
EITHER
-
- An Honours degree in Law from a recognized University or institution.
- A postgraduate diploma in legal practice from the Law Development Centre or any accredited institution.
OR
-
- An Honours degree in either Social Sciences, Social Work and Social Administration or Business Administration (Management Option) from a recognized University or institution.
