Responsibilities or duties

The Room Service Attendant delivers food and beverage orders to guest rooms, providing a seamless and sophisticated dining experience. This role focuses on accuracy, presentation, and discreet service to ensure guest privacy and satisfaction.

Qualifications or requirements

Education: High school diploma.

Skills: Knowledge of food safety and proper serving etiquette.

Attributes: Discreet, well-groomed, physically fit to push heavy trolleys and navigate corridors, excellent attention to detail, and a polite demeanor.

Experience needed

Previous experience in a restaurant or room service setting is preferred.

• Accurately assemble trays and trolleys, ensuring all items (food, condiments, cutlery, linen) are present and presented according to standards.
• Deliver orders to guest rooms promptly, setting up tables or trolleys efficiently and professionally.
• Ensure proper garnishing and aesthetic presentation of all food and beverage items prior to delivery.
• Explain the order to the guest, offer further assistance, and ensure all requests are met. Handle guest inquiries or complaints professionally.
• Collect dirty dishes, trolleys, and trays from guest floors and return them to the kitchen/ stewarding area for cleaning.
• Answer room service calls, taking orders with accuracy and up-selling where appropriate.
• Present bills and process guest payments accurately.
