Roofings Group is the leading manufacturer of quality steel and plastic building products in East Africa. We are currently seeking to recruit a highly motivated, technically experienced, and competent persons, with zeal to perform beyond expectations and excited to Join a (30) years leading steel manufacture
Responsibilities
- Coordinating imports process from suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of raw materials hence smooth flow of imported goods
- Managing customs compliance and documentations with customs regulations and trade agreements, by making sure documentation is complete and accurate in line with imports policy
- Collaborating with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal stakeholders to resolve import issues in timely manner that doesn’t delay raw materials
- Ensuring accuracy in all inbound inventory, which includes imported materials, and maintaining records for the same. This involves ensuring that every material procured, including imports, is quality certified by the respective users and thereafter an inward document is prepared
- Ensure that insurance matters pertaining to all imported cargo are properly followed up in liaison with our insurance brokers
- To take charge of the customs bond & ensure goods are stocked, labelled as per URA requirements
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies related to imports
- Developing and implementing strategies for cost savings and efficiency improvements
- Monitoring imports cycle from order to confirmation to shipment and delivery to the plant.
- Ensuring timely delivery of goods and services to meet production need
- Effective team management for optimum output
Qualifications
- Bachelors of Procurement & Supply Chain Management, logistics from a recognised University.
- Full professional qualification membership from recognized institute of higher learning.
- A minimum of 5 years in import/export operations from manufacturing company is required
- Strong understanding of Imports regulations, customs compliance, and international trade laws in crucial.
- A problem-solving mindset focused on customer service will help navigate challenges that arise during the import process
- Knowledge of International taxes.
