Job Purpose
To carry out registration and related services in line with the mandate of URSB.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
-
- Registering copyright works and rights, assignments, licenses and related contracts, agreements or documentation.
- Maintaining and updating the registry database to ensure accuracy and accessibility of records.
- Developing and implementing policies and guidelines to enhance the registration process and service delivery.
- Providing support in the administration of policies, standards and guidelines.
- Providing technical support in the updating of laws related to mandate of URSB.
- Providing responses to queries raised by interested persons on registrations when necessary.
- Preparing legislative action plan, and reviews existing laws on registration for conformity and compliance with statutory requirements.
- Managing the assessment and collection of non-tax revenue accruing from registrations.
- Conducting hearings and issuing decisions in disputes on issues regarding the registrations.
- Providing technical and legal advice to the public on the general aspects of registration processes.
Person Specifications
Academic Qualifications
EITHER
-
- An Honours degree in Law from a recognized University or institution.
- A postgraduate diploma in legal practice from the Law Development Centre or any accredited institution.
OR
-
- An Honours degree in either Social Sciences, Social Work and Social Administration or Business Administration (Management Option) from a recognized University or institution.
- A post graduate diploma in Management from a recognized University or institution.
Work Experience
-
- At least three (3) years’ working experience as a Registration or Regulation Officer or an equivalent level of experience in a reputable public or private organisation.
