We are looking for a motivated and energetic Sports Coach to plan, lead, and inspire athletes while promoting teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship both on and off the field.

1. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan and conduct training sessions tailored to athletes' age, ability, and goals.
  • Teach sport-specific techniques, tactics, and game strategies.
  • Assess player performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Prepare teams and individuals for competitions and tournaments.
  • Promote teamwork, discipline, respect, and fair play.
  • Deliver engaging physical education and fitness activities.
  • Ensure athlete safety and well-being during training and competitions.
  • Monitor attendance, fitness levels, and performance records.
  • Maintain sports equipment and ensure facilities are used safely.
  • Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, school staff, and management.

2. SUPPORTING ROLE

  • Provide classroom cover for absent teaching staff, keeping students on-task and safe.
  • Supervise the Sixth Form independent study room.
  • Accompany students on field trips, residentials and outdoor learning.
  • Support the wider school community during non-contact periods.

3. QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma/Bachelor's in Sports Science, PE, Coaching or related field (preferred).
  • Recognized coaching certification in the relevant sport.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification (preferred).
  • Experience coaching individuals or teams at the relevant level.

4. SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Strong leadership and motivational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Sound knowledge of the sport's rules and techniques.
  • Planning, organizational and time-management skills.
  • Commitment to athlete welfare, safeguarding and ethical coaching.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

5. SUCCESS MEASURED BY

  • Athlete skill development & performance improvement.
  • Team competition results.
  • Attendance & retention.
  • Safeguarding compliance.
  • Feedback from athletes, parents & management.
