JOB DETAILS:
VisionFund Uganda (VFU) wishes to recruit a competent, resourceful, exposed, and versatile staff that is flexible and disciplined, with a clean track record (no history of disciplinary action) for the role below: 1. Systems Internal Auditor Reports to: Internal Audit Manager Role Purpose:

The incumbent shall conduct the assigned audit assurance and consulting assignments in line with the professional standards and communicate any critical /significant findings to the Manager-Internal Audit for consideration, thereby contributing to VFU’s risk management, control and the achievement of VFU’s strategic objectives.

Key Result Areas/ deliverables:
• Provide assurance on the IT governance, information security and all IT processes to ensure that VFU’s objectives are achieved.
• Carry out IT risk assessments and participate in the preparation of the annual work plan.
• Provide practical suggestions (recommendations) to Management and Board to address control weaknesses identified across the IT function and VFU Operations.
• Coordinate follow ups on UMRA, external audit and internal audit recommendations and ensure that the identified control gaps are closed.
• Regularly carry out reviews on disaster recovery, IT Security, change management process, user access rights and super user activities among others.
• Carry out fraud investigations as assigned.
• Exhibit sound business judgement, distinguishing between important and unimportant matters when evaluating audit results.
• Draft timely written and oral communications with audit reports of high quality in content, style and clarity.
• Determine the effectiveness of internal controls in other areas being audited and degree of compliance with VFU policies. Deficiency findings and recommendations must be communicated to the Internal Audit Manager.
• Carry out regular audits on branches requiring extensive travel throughout the country, necessitating frequent overnight stays.
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Person Specification
Competencies & qualifications
• A bachelor’s degree in Business Computing, Information Technology and any other related course.
• Possession of certifications like CISA, CISM or CRISC and membership to ISACA is relevant.
• At least 3 years of internal or external IT auditing experience.
• Membership of IIA Uganda, ACCA or ICPAU is an added advantage.
• Experience in auditing IT systems is a MUST.
• T24 familiarity is an added advantage.
• Possession of strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
