About Mota-Engil Uganda:
Mota-Engil Uganda is a subsidiary of Mota-Engil, a multinational construction and infrastructure management group. The company is involved in various large-scale projects in Uganda, including roads, bridges, dams, and industrial facilities.
Specific Responsibilities of the Tower Crane Operator:
• Operate tower cranes to lift and move materials, equipment, and structures on construction sites.
• Conduct daily inspections and maintenance checks on the crane to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Interpret and follow lifting plans and instructions from site supervisors.
• Communicate effectively with ground personnel using hand signals or radio communication.
• Ensure the safe and secure loading and unloading of materials.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Maintain accurate records of lifting operations and crane maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical issues with the crane.
• Report any major malfunctions or safety concerns to the site supervisor.
• Work in various weather conditions and potentially at heights.
• Collaborate with other construction workers to ensure project timelines are met.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Valid Tower Crane Operator license or certification.
• Proven experience operating tower cranes on construction sites.
• Strong understanding of crane operations, safety regulations, and lifting procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and lifting plans.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical fitness and stamina 1 to perform demanding tasks.
• Knowledge of basic crane maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with construction site safety procedures.
Additional Considerations:
• Experience with specific crane models used by Mota-Engil Uganda may be preferred.
• Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends as required.
• Ability to work in remote locations or challenging environments
