On behalf of our client in the Renewable Energy Sector, we are seeking competent and experienced Trainees (5) to be based in Pader, Uganda.

Job Summary:

The objective of the Graduate in Training Programme is to expose the beneficiaries of the program to practice and on-the-job training in operations and maintenance of hydro power assets.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in the installation and commissioning of solar PV systems, inverters, batteries, and related components.
• Support routine inspection, servicing, and maintenance of renewable energy systems.
• Assist in site surveys and basic system design under supervision.
• Help with documentation including project reports, checklists, and system performance logs.
• Follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Participate actively in training sessions, workshops, and on-the-job learning.
• Stay updated on emerging renewable energy technologies and best practices.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems and renewable energy concepts.
• Willingness to learn and work in both office and field environments.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic knowledge of solar PV systems and energy storage solutions.
• Ability to read basic electrical diagrams is an added advantage.
• Computer literacy (MS Office or similar tools).
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good time management skills.

Barriers to Success in Role

• Lack of willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and work methods.
• Unreliability, absenteeism, or poor work ethic.
