Role Overview & Scope
The Unit Managers will manage, grow, and drive the performance of unit workforces to hit individual Life Business targets. Stationed in Kampala, Mbale, or Jinja, the Unit Manager will supervise Sales Agents and coordinate individual Life product distribution within the designated unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Agent Recruitment & Retention: Recruit, train, and retain a minimum of 15 Sales Agents, ensuring at least 10 active agents produce a minimum of two endowment policies per week.
- Sales Performance & Targets: Ensure achievement of overall Unit sales metrics, including Monthly Premium Income (MPI), Case Count, Annual Premium Income (API), and Persistence rates.
- Training & Development: Provide continuous and effective training to Sales Agents regarding life products, sales techniques, and operational procedures.
- Market Insights & Strategy: Conduct local market analysis, propose product improvements, and design promotional campaigns to increase product awareness.
- Compliance & Discipline: Enforce adherence to Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA) regulations and the CIC Code of Ethics, recommending disciplinary action when required.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.
- Professional Certifications:
- Certificate of Proficiency in Insurance (COP).
- Valid IRA Agent License.
- Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a supervisory role within the insurance sector.
- Competencies: Deep understanding of Life Assurance business, strong supervisory, training, negotiation, and computer skills.
