Donswift Company is hiring a Veterinary Doctor to do the following;
Key Responsibilities:
Input Needs Assessment: Identify farmer demand for livestock inputs such as veterinary drugs, feeds, day-old chicks, vaccines, and other related products alongside the branch managers.
Supplier Collaboration: Work with suppliers to ensure timely stocking of relevant and affordable veterinary inputs alongside the branch managers.
Farmer Training & Extension: Organize and deliver training sessions on poultry, goat, and cattle production, focusing on profitable and scalable enterprises.
Market Linkages: Support farmers to access reliable markets for livestock and livestock products alongside the Foods Team.
Value Chain Development: Assess and document market trends, demand levels, and emerging opportunities in the livestock input and production sector.
Technical Support: Provide continuous veterinary advisory services and extension support to farmers and farmer groups.
Requirements
Education:
Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Medicine (BVM) OR Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Production and Management from a recognized institution.
Experience:
Proven experience in commercial livestock value chain management (poultry, goats, cattle).
Experience in farmer training, livestock enterprise management, and agribusiness development.
Skills:
Strong technical knowledge in animal health, nutrition, and production.
Good understanding of input supply chains and livestock markets.
Excellent communication, reporting, and facilitation skills.
Ability to work independently and with farmer groups in rural communities.
