Jowy Landa clears the air after declaring herself the Queen of the New Generation, naming Sheebah Karungi as the unmatched queen of Uganda’s female music scene.
Rising star Jowy Landa has sparked fresh conversation in the entertainment industry after reaffirming her controversial declaration of being the “Queen of the New Generation.” The claim initially stirred debate, especially after fellow singer Ava Peace previously gave herself the same title.
In a recent interview with a local television station, Jowy Landa clarified her statement and paid respect to Sheebah Karungi, acknowledging her as the biggest female musician in Uganda and the rightful queen of the industry.
“I said and maintain that I am the queen of the new generation. Everyone can be a queen, however Sheebah is the original queen — she has done it all and remains the best.” Jowy explained.
She emphasized that Sheebah’s consistency, dominance, and influence over the years have kept her at the very top, inspiring younger artists like herself who admire her work ethic and impact.
Jowy Landa also revealed that her fans have fully embraced the title, helping her build a stronger brand identity.
“My fans love it and it’s doing wonders for me,” she added.
The debate around queenship in the music industry continues, but many agree that Sheebah’s legacy remains unmatched.
