Minister Balaam Barugahara says he is not afraid of witchcraft as he continues his anti-corruption tour across Eastern Uganda, warning corrupt officials.

Minister for Local Government Balaam Barugahara has dismissed threats of witchcraft allegedly directed at him as he continues his anti-corruption tour across Eastern Uganda.

Balaam has been visiting several districts, including Mbale and Bulambuli, where he has been meeting local leaders and following up on allegations of corruption. The exercise has reportedly led to the arrest of a number of officials.

Despite reports that some individuals have threatened to bewitch him over his crackdown on corruption, the minister says he remains unfazed and will continue carrying out his duties.

"Those thinking of bewitching me are wasting their time. Witchcraft does not work, and I do not fear it. My people should not fear anyone because no one will bewitch me," he partly said during an interview with a local television station.

Balaam maintained that the anti-corruption tour will continue in the coming days and warned individuals involved in corrupt practices to be prepared for increased scrutiny.

He reiterated his commitment to promoting accountability and transparency in local government administration across the country.
