Moments after grilling the President on digital media, Kasuku switched roles — and started asking for money.

On Sunday morning, popular gossip monger Kasuku, together with a group of influencers, TikTokers and YouTubers, held a high-profile interview with President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni at Nakasero State House.

The discussion mainly centered around digital media, online engagement, and the future of Uganda’s content creation space.

However, the serious conversation quickly took a humorous turn when Kasuku — famous for his unapologetic begging tactics — openly pleaded for cash from the President.

“Usually when someone visits their Jajja, they are given something to take back home. So I’m requesting that Your Excellency gives us something to take back home,” Kasuku said.

The President laughed off the request but responded cautiously, explaining that openly giving out money during the campaign season could be interpreted as bribery.

“I wouldn’t mind that, but now I’m a presidential candidate, and that would look like bribery. Let us wait until after the elections and I’ll see about that,” Museveni replied.

Kasuku later called for more engagements between digital creators and the President, arguing that such interactions would greatly improve Uganda’s digital media space for both creators and audiences.
