Singer Lydia Jazmine says motherhood and marriage can wait, revealing she’s fully focused on building her music career and securing her financial future before settling down.
While many female artists in Uganda have recently embraced motherhood and marriage alongside their careers, celebrated singer Lydia Jazmine has made it clear she isn’t joining that wave just yet.
Speaking in a recent interview with a local television station, the star revealed she is not currently considering giving birth or getting married.
Jazmine explained that her focus is firmly set on her music and self-development, noting that she wants to achieve more professionally and financially before thinking about family commitments.
“I am not in a rush for kids or marriage. I am currently looking for money and it’s what I’m focusing on at the moment. I want to improve myself before going into it,” she said.
The singer emphasized that she has great love for children and fully intends to have her own at the right time.
“I actually love children passionately and my friends can testify to that. I will give birth at the right time and even marriage will come,” Jazmine added.
Several female musicians, including Sheebah, Cindy, Karole Kasita, and Vinka, have already embraced motherhood while maintaining strong careers in the industry — but Lydia Jazmine insists everything happens in its own time.
Her fans have since praised her honesty and ambition, applauding her for making decisions aligned with her personal goals.
