An explosion followed by heavy gunfire has been reported at 14 Riverside in Westlands, Nairobi, Citizen TV reports.
At least two blasts and gunfire were heard at the compound in the Westland district of the city, which houses the Dusit hotel as well as offices.
Police say they are treating it as a terrorist attack. Witnesses saw four armed men entering the complex.
Vehicles are on fire in the car park and people are being evacuated. Police have cordoned off the area and are trying to rescue those trapped inside.
Police wishes to confirm that there has been an attack incident along 14 Riverside Drive. The area has since been cordoned off and motorists are advised to use alternative routes to facilitate smooth operations of the Police.

“We are under attack,” a person inside the complex told Reuters news agency. It says one man came out covered in blood as students were evacuated.
“I just started hearing gunshots, and then started seeing people running away raising their hands up and some were entering the bank to hide for their lives,” a woman working in a neighbouring building told Reuters.
