Police in Greater Masaka Region has denied ever stopping clubs and bar owners from playing Bobi Wine’s songs that include ‘Kyarenga’ and “Tuliyambala Engule” literally meaning that we shall wear the crown’ which has since attracted mixed reactions from the public, political actors as well as religious leaders.

The clarification comes hot on the heels of reports that have been making rounds in the region that security operatives move around arresting Djs who have been insisting on playing the artist turned politician’s  music .

In a statement , Greater Masaka Police Spokesman SP Lameck Kigozi pointed out that “The authors of this information are known political actors and commentators whose intention is to smear and tarnish the image of police in the region.”

He however warned that police will not hesitate to act in accordance with the law where such political fanatics pose a threat to public order.
