David Musiri, a second year student of BCOM (External) at Makerere University has petitioned Makerere University Academic Registrar, National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) and the police demanding they should revoke a degree allegedly awarded in fault to Miss Uganda and Miss World Africa, Quinn Abenakyo.

Musiri claims the Abenakyo did not complete her papers yet she was awarded Bachelors Degree on January 18th this year by Makerere University Vice Chancellor Barnabas Nwangwe.

He claims that Abenakyo’s name was not in the graduation booklet and warns to take the matter to IGG if they don’t act.

However, MUBS Principal, Waswa Balunywa says Abenakyo did not have the requirement credit units and CGPA required to graduate as she had a retake in Finance Management, a course unit in her second year.

Balunywa explains that Abenakyo wrote to MUBS seeking leave from retaking the paper until she returns from her engagements in the pageant, however, she returned so close to the graduation ceremony prompting the university to issue her a special exam on January 12 2019, ahead of the graduation events.
