Police are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a 6-year-old boy , identified as Ssempereza Jameson, whose body was found in Kireka farmers market in the wee hours of today.
The 6-year-old child , a pupil at Good Choice Nursery School, was last seen alive at around 8 pm yesterday(Sunday 17th February 2018), together with his eight-year-old brother Goodrick Ssempereza. They were reportedly going to fetch water.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the deceased’s mother Esther Nambafu, a market vendor waited for her children to return in vain. Later, the elder brother returned and informed her that a certain man had sent his brother to buy him Pepsi. For a while, Nambafu tried to search for Jameson in vain.
At around 5 a.m, one of the vendors discovered a body of a young boy hidden behind a wooden table in the market and alerted both her colleague and the police. Moments later, Nambafu recognized that the body which had deep cuts on the neck and legs was of her missing son.
According to the police spokesperson Fred Enanga, the sniffer dogs traced the suspected killer up-to-the main road where he is believed to have boarded a motorcycle or a vehicle and disappeared. Enanga cautions parents against negligence.
The body was taken to City mortuary Mulago Hospital for Postmortem.
