Opposition politicians from Busoga Sub-region have asked former Vice President Dr Specioza Wandera Kazibwe to apologize over her remarks against the politician-cum artiste Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi ,commonly known as Bobi Wine, at the burial of Bishop Cyprian Bamwoze in Jinja District on Sunday.

During the burial, Dr Kazibwe, who was allowed chance to address mourners by Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga, rebuked Bobi Wine, saying she wondered why he attended the funeral of a person he did not know.

“I don’t know what Bobi Wine has come here for because he doesn’t know the deceased,” she said,  a statement that attracted boos from mourners.

And now, members of the Forum for Democratic Change and Uganda Young Democrats (UYD), a young wing of the Democratic Party (DP), said Dr Kazibwe should apologise for ashaming Basoga by not being hospitable.

Opposition politicians from Busoga Sub-region have given former Vice President, Dr Specioza Wandira Kazibwe, 48 hours to apologize to Ugandans for snubbing Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi during Bishop Cyprian Bamwoze’s burial in Jinja District on Sunday.

Speaking in Jinja yesterday ahead of the Busoga region Democratic Party (DP)-Uganda Young Democrats (UYD) reunion today , the DP President General Press Secretary, Fred Mwesigwa, said they have given Dr Kazibwe two days to apologize or else, “they work on her politically.”

“As Opposition in Busoga, we apologise for the indiscipline Dr Kazibwe exhibited towards visitors who came to attend the Bishop’s burial, including Bobi Wine. In Busoga culture, it is not a crime to attend the burial of someone you didn’t visit when he was still alive. She should apologize,’’ said Mwesigwa.

Jinja Municipal Council Speaker Moses Bizitu, a member of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), said in Busoga culture, they welcome everyone who comes to grieve, adding that Dr Kazibwe’s “indiscipline” was uncalled for.

Bobi Wine’s arrival, in the company of Jinja East Member of Parliament Paul Mwiru, had earlier excited the mourners. FDC  president  Patrick Amuriat, Maj Gen Mugisha Muntu, Kampala Minister  Betty  Kamya, State Minister for  Works and Transport  Gen  Edward  Katumba, and Deputy  Speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanyah, among others attended the burial.
