The Kyadondo East Member of Parliament Robert Kyagulanyi known to many as Bobi Wine says he is ready to take in advice, as he has been asked to be cautious of the people who will join his presidential camp.
Bobi has also appealed to Ugandan intellectuals to stop beating him down following his recent TV interview. Bobi came under fire from critics on social media who said he had a dismal show when he appeared on a political talk show; On the Spot hosted by Patrick Kamara and could not clearly explain the fiscal policies he would employ to curb inflation.
This comes after he announced to stand for presidency in 2021 against incumbent president Yoweri Museveni who was recently endorsed by is party as the sole candidate for the general election.
However, speaking at the thanksgiving ceremony of Mityana Municipality MP over the weekend, Kyagulanyi said he has a team of experienced leaders that will help him understanding the dynamics of the state.
” I have a very serious and competent team that I will work with,” Kyagulanyi said.
The comments come after the legislator had a torrid time during a TV interview where he could not clearly explain the fiscal policies he would employ to curb inflation.
Many people have however questioned the potential of Bobi Wine to rule Uganda although majority of the people we interviewed on the street support his bid.
Kyagulanyi also distanced himself from the attacks on FDC’s former president Dr. Kizza Besigye at Bulange Mengo last week and in Gulu, which he said were uncalled for.
Former presidential candidate Dr Kiiza Besigye has also spoken out about Bobi’s intention saying he has the potential.
Besigye said given the fact that Bobi is young and focused on active political struggle, how he proceeds along the political career largely depends on what he does. He quickly added that it is still too early to predict what kind of trajectory he will have.
The two principals have remained civil towards each other but their supporters have attacked each other.
