It is now confirmed oil will start flowing in 2022 without fail.
Minister Irene Muloni confirmed to the nation at the ongoing Africa Now 2019 Conference at Munyonyo where eight heads of state are attending.
Cabinet Minister for Energy and Minerals, Irene revealed: “We’re now looking at our first oil in 2022, we want this oil to change the lives of our people as well as add lasting value for us and generations to come.”
Muloni said: “Uganda is blessed with plenty of natural resources, we want to make sure they’re a blessing and not a curse. We’ve made sure that the laws, policies & regulations regarding the exploitation of oil are in place.”
The minister hailed: “Uganda is blessed with plenty of natural resources including oil and gas & we want to make sure these natural resources are a blessing to us not a curse like it may have happened elsewhere.”
Minister Irene Muloni: A refinery is going to be constructed in Hoima district that will produce very many things including jet fuel and petroleum. This refinery is going to serve Uganda and partner states.
Minister Irene Muloni: We’ve made sure that investors join hands with us to export this oil. Before we get this oil out of the ground, we have to know and make sure we already have a place it’s going.
