A royal guard of Rwoth Rosette Sanders, the Queen Mother of Alur Chiefdom is nursing wound after being shot by a soldier from the Special Forces Command-SFC in Entebbe.
The injured only identified as Otim, who was allegedly drunk, was shot after opening fire at people around Nakiwogo close to Entebbe State House and Uganda Virus Research Institute last evening.
Otim is said to have resorted to resorted to drinking on Monday after receiving his payment.
When residents called Police for rescue and it didn’t turn up, SFC soldiers from state house responded by shooting the drunken guard in order to disarm him and save some of the occupants from being shot. He was shot in the waist and rushed to Nsamize hospital for treatment.
The Entebbe Division Police Commander, Baker Kawonawo, declined to comment on the incident referring the media to the SFC Spokesperson Jimmy Omara who has also requested for more time to get details.
An eye witness, who preferred anonymity, however gave us his account of the story, saying he threatened all of them when he pointed the gun at them.
