As President Yoweri Museveni is expected in Kyankwanzi, today to open the 8-day National Resistance Movement Party (NRM) Caucus retreat at the National Leadership Training Institute, the so-called rebel Mps who were blocked from attending the retreat have vowed to sue the party leadership for denying them their right to associate.

The MPs who include; Lwemiya County MP, Theodore Ssekikubo, Barnabas Tinkasimire, James Achidri, Patrick Nsamba and John Baptist Nambeshe told the media at Parliament that this form of unconstitutionalism within the party can’t go unchallenged.   Rule 2(c) of the NRM Code of Conduct compels and obliges members of the party to exhibit selfless spirit in all that they do and always put the interest of NRM and the nation above everything else.

The NRM Mps headed to Kyankwanzi yesterday, where they are expected to among other issues discuss ways on how to develop the country’s economy, the road to 2021 elections, and the proposal to have President Museveni as a sole party candidate is also thought to be among the issues for debate.

Last month, at Chobe Safari lodge in Nwoya district, the  MPs agreed to recommend to the membership of the party and its organs that His Excellency continues leading the Country in 2021 and beyond.

However, according to the NRM Caucus Publicity Secretary, Margaret Muhanga, the so-called rebel MPs have been barred from attending the meeting because they have shown a tendency to be disruptive.

Meanwhile, some NRM MPs who include; Felix Okot Ogwang, Semeo Nsubuga ,Donozio Kahonda , and Lilly Adong want President Museveni to explain the on-going tensions between Uganda and Rwanda.
