Elton Joseph Mabirizi, former presidential candidate in the 2016 elections who ran on an independent ticket but only came to the limelight with his famous response: “I will empower women from top to down there” during the presidential debate has made public his intentions to make a come back in 2021.

Mabirizi made the declaration yesterday (March 17,2019) during an interview on NBS TV ‘Amasengejje’ news bulletin hosted by  Twaha Mukiibi.

He also accussed the ruling National Resistance Party (NRM) of surviving on witchcraft, intimidation, and corruption.

Asked where he has been hiding after being off the political scene for some time, Mabirizi responded: “I have been around though not been invited by the media like you have done today.”

“I have been moving all over the country teaching and training the populace about their rights and that implies that I am coming back in 2021. NRM party survives on witchcraft, intimidation, and corruption. So you should not be worried.” H added

He further said: “The biggest problem we have are the lawmakers/MPs that keep fronting President Museveni each time elections draw closer. They always pass policies in his favour and since he hasn’t groomed any other person from the party he will front his son Lt. Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba.”

Mabirizi, a pastor at Namungoona in Kampala, a counselor, educationist and an industrialist was among the  presidential candidates that included:  Yoweri Kaguta Museveni (NRM),  Dr. Kizza Besigye (FDC),  Faith Kyalya (Independent)- who also recently said she would make a comeback,   Prof. Venansius Baryamureeba (Independent), Rtd Gen. Benon  Biraro (FPU), Mr. Amama Mbabazi (Independent), and Mr. Abed Bwanika (PDP).
