Police Pursues Driver of a Speeding Vehicle that Hit Hard a Traffic Officer

Police in Kampala are searching for a driver of a Prado who was witnessed knocking down a traffic officer on Sunday.

Constable Innocent Ayesigye attached to Seeta police station was suddenly hit by white Prado UAS 597U at Namanve along Jinja Road on Sunday evening.

Ayesigye was riding a Jiansey white motorbike aUP 2164 when the unfortunate incident occurred.

A case was recorded at Bwoyogerere police station under Kira Division on reference TAR98/2020 after the driver of the Prado escaped.

Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesman, Luke Owoyesigyire, says that the driver of the Prado rammed into Ayesigye by the from back, causing him to fall before another vehicle a blue Ford UBG 896E that was coming from the front.

Owoyesigyire says the officer sustained a compound fracture and was rushed to Mulago hospital for treatment.

Police says the Ford driver identified as Robert Ntambi is a resident of Bweyogerere division, Kira Municipality, Wakiso District.

The Ford vehicle UBG 896E  has since been impounded at Bweyogerere police station.

Meanwhile the Inspector of Vehicles from the Kira Division is inspecting the impounded motor vehicle and motorcycle as police look for the culprit on the run to bring him to book.
