Uganda is slowly headed toward the 1000 mark of COVID 19 infections after confirming 8 new infections of COVID-19 placing the national tally at 805 positive cases.
Out of 2,196 samples tested on Tuesday, only 2 community alerts tested positive from Kyotera and Amuru district.
Meanwhile, 6 are from Ugandan truck drivers who crossed into the country through the entry points with 1 from Malaba, Mutukula 3, and Elegu 2.
Positive tests were also realized from 14 foreign truck drivers who were immediately sent back to their respective country of origin.
Uganda now has 106 active patients while 699 have been discharged and 0 deaths.
Neighboring Kenya has 4,952, South Sudan 1,916 cases, Rwanda 798, Tanzania 509, and Burundi 104.
