Two Ministry of health officials attached to the ongoing Under The Net (MNET) program have been killed in a brutal road accident in Kapchorwa District.
The fatal incident happened at Towei hill, in Kongowo Village, Kongowo Parish, Kapsinda Sub-county, Kapchorwa District along Mbale Kapchorwa road.
The deceased has been identified as Isaac Mukasa a resident of Kitangaya sub-county in Jinja district and the driver Noah Treva from Soroti while another identified as Ronald Muhumuza is admitted at Kapchorwa general hospital in a critical state.
Police say the occupants were on transit from Bukwo district to Mbale.
The two met their death when the car they were traveling in, a Toyota Prado UAM 049E lost control, swerving off the road and overturning.
The two were deployed by the ministry of health to distribute nets in Bukwo district.
The deceased bodies have been taken to Kapchorwa municipal mortuary as police investigate the cause of death.
The vehicle was improvised by the ministry of health to distribute mosquito nets.
