A 16-year-old boy and his friend who is on the run have been busted by police in Kanungu while defacing campaign posters belonging to the snobbish Kinkizi East legislator Chris Baryomunsi.
Baryomunsi who is also the state minister for housing is seeking a re-run for the Kinkizi East seat come 2021 and has already flooded his yellow posters all over his constituency.
However, stubborn Ian Niwaha and his colleague, residents of Kigando cell in Kambuga sub-county decided to go on a spree, destroying the legislators pinned posters for unknown reasons.
Police nabbed the naughty duo at Kambuga town following a tipoff from area residents and managed to capture Niwaha while his friend was quick enough to escape.
Elly Maate the Kigezi regional police mouthpiece says the police is looking for the other accomplice and the duo will be charged under the electoral laws.
Maate has warned the public against mischievous acts of removing , deforming, covering or even defacing candidate’s posters as this is a crime.
