Ugandans are still trying to wrap their hands around what inspired a 19-year-old boy to pick presidential nomination papers from the Electoral Commission on Wednesday.

An S.6 vacist, Hillary Humphrey Kaweesa recently graduated from Mengo Senior Secondary School in Kampala where he obtained an Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE)in 2019 for which he pulled three principal passes.

Kaweesa claims he is competent to run the highest office on the land because he has a history of serving as a high school councilor and that makes him confident for the position.

Kaweesi who has since failed to raise the required nomination fees of 20 million shillings has now resorted to begging all wellwishers who believe in his cause to help him.

”People will contribute because people who know the cause cannot fail to contribute for a guy like me” Kaweesi said

Kaweesi’s manifesto apparently entails him having a roundtable meeting with the government.

”In my manifesto, by the way, I want genuine politics I want to create change, the opposition members have been doing a lot of blame games I think its time to seat with the government and make a resolution on how to create change.

We are not certain if the youngest presidential aspirant will also meet the Electoral commission -EC requirement of collecting 100 signatures from every district in the country to support his nomination.

Legislators in 2017 altered the constitution when they scrapped the presidential age-limit of 75 years and lowered the age eligibility for president, to 18 from 35 years.

19 Presidential aspirants have since picked nomination forms from the EC to tussle it out with the incumbent President Museveni.
