The president of a faction of the Uganda People’s Congress-UPC party has vowed to kick the tormented ex-party president Jimmy Akena out of the party head offices at the Uganda House
Peter Walubiri insists that Akena is occupying the office illegally after he was thrown out of the position of the party head by the court of Appeal.
The Court of Appeal Justices including Irene Mulyagonja, Christopher Madrama Izama, and Elizabeth Musoke canceled Akena’s presidency on grounds that no lawful elections have happened for the past 5 years since Olara Otuunu retired in 2015.
The Justices then ordered Akena to halt any party activities and financial accounts on behalf of the party until fresh polls for the election of a legitimate leader are held.
Walubiri now wants Akena to pack his bags out of the Office with immediate effect because his actions of sticking in the office are in contempt of court.
He also adds that its high time that fresh elections are held because three party members have expressed interest in contesting for the party presidency.
