A 19-year-old suspected serial motorcycle thief has finally been netted by the Kiira regional police.

Denis Magoola has been on the police wanted list for weeks, after he went into hiding for selling stolen old motorcycle spare parts to  Boda Boda rider.

Jinja motorcyclists attempted to lynch him for selling failing to mention suppliers of the stolen spare parts.

Magoola was tracked by police for weeks and finally busted at his residence Wanyange cell in the Northern division on Wednesday.

Police also recovered exhibits like a sharp knife, an unspecified amount of petrol stored in different containers and five motorcycles hidden in the suspect’s bedroom. 

Magoola failed to provide proof of ownership of motorcycles leading police to impound them Kakira central police station.

The motorcycles registration numbers UEB 201Y, UEJ 530F, UFF 011F, UEM 617J, and UEC 436G are parked at Kakira central police station following Magoola’s failure to provide proof of ownership.   

 
Kiira Regional Police spokesperson, James Mubi, says Magoola will be charged with possession of suspected stolen property and aggravated robbery.  

He says that prior to his arrest; there were three pending files against the suspect related to assault and motorcycle thefts.
