Police in Kampala have trashed social media reports indicating that a son to the Minister of Internal Affairs Gen. Kahinda Otafiire narrowly escaped assassination on Entebbe -Kampala Express Highway.

However, Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson Patrick Onyango has dismissed the allegations as untrue. In a statement released on Friday evening, Onyango says police has not received any reports of such an assassination attempt.
“We have not received any report of attempted assassination and our officers who patrol the Highway have also not been notified of any incident. Therefore, the report is false and we appeal to members of the public/media/bloggers to always consult us before posting such false information,” Onyango says.
