The wife of Brian Kirumira is among four people arrested in connection to the death of Carol Nalubwama, who passed away at Kiruddu Hospital on 28 October.
Speaking today during the routine police briefing at the headquarters in Naguru, Luke Owoyesigyire, the KMP Deputy Spokesman, said they have netted four people over Nalubwama’s death.
Among those arrested is the owner of the nursing home, Joyce Irene Nnambalirwa, for negligence causing death. Police believe the delay contributed to Carol’s passing upon arrival at Kiruddu.
Also in custody are three other suspects: Nalunga Daisy, Avaho Daphine, and Nakato Nava, suspected to have links to Brian Kirumira.
“We are also holding other people who are suspected to be maids and another who is suspected to be the wife of Brian Kirumira. These are Nalunga Daisy, Avaho Daphine, and Nakato Nava. We shall be giving you more details. The file is still being perused by the Resident State Attorney. We are waiting on the advice on how to go further in this investigation and whether it can be sanctioned on the suspects we have in our custody or not,” Owoyesigyire said.
This comes as police reveal more shocking details around the death of Nalubwama, a close friend to local tycoon and socialite Brian Kirumira, aka Bryan White.
Carol, 27, died a horrible and painful death at Kiruddu Referral Hospital on 28 October, after allegedly suffering a massive gas explosion at the Kirumira residence on Salaama Road. Her mysterious death did not go unnoticed, as close relatives, including her mother and father, alleged she was murdered by Bryan White, who they also claimed was intimate with her at the time of her death.
In various viral social media clips, the deceased’s father alleges witchcraft practices and strange occurrences leading up to her death. They also claim she didn’t die from a gas explosion but may have died prior.
Owoyesigyire revealed that Bryan White, a person of interest in the case, is currently under police guard while receiving treatment at a hospital on Entebbe Road. He explained that police only provide such protection for persons connected to investigations.
In other revelations, police say investigations indicate the incident actually occurred on 22 October, but it was only reported on 27 October. “The delay was likely because people were trying to save the victim,” Owoyesigyire explained.

Carol was first taken to Mabirizi Nursing Home for treatment but was later referred to Kiruddu Hospital. Police say the nursing home withheld Carol due to unpaid bills and even confiscated a caretaker’s laptop, worsening her condition.
As a result, the owner of the nursing home, Joyce Irene Nnambalirwa, was arrested for negligence causing death. Police believe the delay contributed to Carol’s passing upon arrival at Kiruddu.
The Resident State Attorney is reviewing the file to advise on potential charges. Police have vowed to continue their investigation and provide updates as the case develops.
