Friends of Uganda is proud to announce its official accreditation by the Electoral Commission of Uganda as an Election Observer for the upcoming national elections. This milestone affirms the organization’s commitment to promoting democracy, transparency, peace, and civic accountability across the country.
The accreditation authorizes Friends of Uganda to observe electoral processes nationwide including voting, counting, and tallying, in line with Uganda’s electoral laws and international democratic standards.
Speaking on the development, the leadership of Friends of Uganda emphasized that the organization’s role will be strictly independent, impartial, and non-partisan, focusing on strengthening public confidence in the electoral process. “This accreditation is a vote of confidence in our work. Friends of Uganda remain committed to supporting peaceful elections and empowering citizens to participate responsibly in shaping the future of our nation,” said a representative of Friends of Uganda.
As an accredited observer group, Friends of Uganda will deploy trained observers and document electoral processes. , engage communities on peaceful participation, and issue evidence-based reports aimed at improving electoral integrity.
The organization calls upon all Ugandan citizens especially the youth to embrace peace, unity, and respect for democratic values before, during, and after the elections.
