Police in Kiboga, together with sister security agencies, have arrested 14 suspected members of a criminal gang during an intelligence-led operation conducted in Kiboga Town Council on April 11, 2026.

The suspects are believed to be members of a gang code-named “Scorpions,” which has allegedly been behind a series of petty thefts including snatching of phones, bags, and other valuables within Kiboga town.

According to SSP L. Kigozi, PRO Wamala Region, a total of 14 suspects were arrested, comprising 13 male adults and one female juvenile.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects confessed to tampering with IMEI numbers of stolen phones before selling them to dealers in Kiboga town.

Following information obtained from the suspects, police also arrested two phone dealers allegedly involved in receiving the stolen devices.

Police say investigations into the matter are still ongoing as efforts continue to dismantle the wider network linked to the gang.
