A fresh wave of political drama has erupted online after Chief of Defence Forces Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba posted a controversial image showing former Kampala Lord Mayor and PFF party President Erias Lukwago blindfolded, appearing to beg for mercy, alongside claims that he was being held in a basement “learning Kiswahili.”

The post has triggered confusion across social media, with many users questioning its authenticity and context.

According to the circulating content, Gen. Muhoozi captioned the image suggesting Lukwago was under his control and being kept in a basement.

The CDF who shows no remorse or mercy has alluded that Lukwago and Besigye have for long been thorns in his flesh and its time to settle the fued.

“He has been fighting me with Besigye for many decades. We are going to finish it now.” he posted on X

The alleged post comes shortly after Lukwago was previously quoted in public remarks saying authorities were searching for Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba to serve him with court papers linked to an ongoing legal dispute involving Dr Kizza Besigye.

The court application was filed in the High Court at Kampala, Criminal Division, Miscellaneous Application No. 0227 of 2026

The application lists Dr Kizza Besigye and Hajji Obeid Lutale as applicants, while naming Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, senior military officers, and the Attorney General as respondents.

It is brought under multiple constitutional provisions, including Articles 20, 28, 29, 42, 44, 45, 50, 126, 129 and 139 of the Constitution, alongside provisions of the Human Rights (Enforcement) Act, Judicature Act, and Prevention and Prohibition of Torture Act.

The motion seeks declarations that the trial and indictment of Besigye and Lutale are unconstitutional, that the alleged abduction from Nairobi, Kenya was unlawful and amounted to extraordinary rendition.

It also states that public statements allegedly made by the 1st respondent threatening violence, torture and execution of the accused violate fair trial rights and due process.

On his official X platform on Monday, Gen. Muhoozi stated again that he would “hang Kizza Besigye the first chance he gets,” accusing him of targeting his father, President Yoweri Museveni.

“Let me say it again! I will HANG Kizza Besigye the first chance I get to do it! He wanted to kill my father and he will not escape the punishment that he richly deserves!!” he wrote
