ETHNile is set to make history as Uganda’s first Ethereum-focused community event, taking place in Kampala. This landmark gathering will bring together blockchain developers, entrepreneurs, technologists, creatives, investors, and policy makers to collaborate, learn, and build around Web3 innovation in Africa under the theme: Decentralizing Possibilities – Unlocking Innovation at the Source.

Theme & Vision

ETHNile’s theme reflects the Nile’s role as the lifeline of Africa and the birthplace of flow and connection. Just as the river nourishes communities from its source, ETHNile will channel innovation, creativity, and collaboration from Uganda to the global blockchain ecosystem. The focus is on empowering African builders to design Ethereum-based solutions with real-world impact from financial inclusion to sustainability and governance.

Key Highlights & Program

ETHNile 2025 will deliver a vibrant 5-day experience, featuring:

  • City Tour to the Source of the Nile (Jinja) – A symbolic journey connecting the event’s theme with Uganda’s cultural and natural heritage.

  • Side Events During ETHNile Week – Community meetups, workshops, and partner events across Kampala leading up to the main program.

  • Hackathon & Demo Sessions – Builders will collaborate on Ethereum-powered solutions tackling real African challenges, with opportunities to present projects in live demo sessions.

  • Conference Day – A full-day conference featuring keynote addresses, ecosystem updates, and the latest Ethereum innovations. (Luma Link: https://luma.com/fajfyrbi

  • Expert Talks & Key Panels – Industry leaders, researchers, and practitioners will share insights on Web3, regulation, sustainability, identity, DeFi, and blockchain use cases in Africa.

  • Networking & Community Engagement – Curated spaces for investors, developers, and entrepreneurs to build long-term collaborations and partnerships.

The conference will be held at the Ndere Cultural Centre, along Kisaasi RoundAbout, Kampala.

Organizers & Partners

ETHNile is organized by local Web3 community leaders including Mukunde Brisa, Ahimbisibwe Brian, Shidi Abraham and Elias Hezron Opio.

The event will be supported by key ecosystem partners, community partners and media partners (Base, Celo, Chainlink, Stellar, Adamur, Decentracode, Celo Africa DAO) with a footprint already in Africa.

Why ETHNile Matters

  • Catalyzing Local Talent: ETHNile provides a platform for Uganda’s developers, founders, and creatives to access global Ethereum knowledge, resources, and networks.

  • Driving Web3 Adoption in Africa: By rooting the event locally, ETHNile aims to cultivate solutions tailored to African challenges, boosting real-world utility.

  • Bridging Global & Local: The event’s programmers and participants will bridge protocols, investors, and communities from around the world with Africa’s rising blockchain ecosystem.

  • Long-Term Legacy: Beyond a one-off conference, ETHNile is intended to spark continuous collaboration, hack cycles, mentorship pipelines, and new crypto-native projects emerging out of Uganda.
