Role Summary:


Our client, a reputable educational institution with over 20 years of dedicated service, a workforce of 230 staff, and an enrolment of over 3,000 learners, seeks to recruit competent and experienced Assistant Bursars/Accountants. The Assistant Bursar/Accountant will manage financial operations, including budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, and compliance with financial regulations.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including bookkeeping, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

  • Prepare accurate financial reports, budgets, and management accounts.

  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.

  • Support audit preparations and respond to audit queries.

  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.

  • Assist in cash flow management and financial planning.

  • Process payroll and statutory deductions.

  • Monitor expenditure and ensure cost control.

  • Prepare fee structures and manage school fee collections.

  • Support the Bursar in financial decision-making and reporting.


Minimum Requirements:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.

  • Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA) is an added advantage.

  • Minimum of three (3) years' relevant work experience.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel (advanced level).

  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and tax regulations.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and professional skills.

  • High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
