Background

The Field Ops department has opened the pool for a RAN Engineer's position in an exciting area of one of the world's leading telecommunication businesses. We are looking for a self-motivated person with a desire to be part of a professional team whose role is to ensure network stability due to proper preventive maintenance being carried out at the field sites.

Working within the field operations environment, the successful applicant will work with various engineers and EBU (Enterprise Business Unit) customers to ensure the delivered services are top-notch according to the given specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Work in a line management team, while supporting the NOC, Planning, HLS and contractor teams.


• Attend to customer complaints as escalated by the designated teams.


• Participate in all field meeting activities both on regional and Company levels.


• Localize and clear software and hardware faults with minimum delays.


• Develop better PM and CM methods while working smart.


• Proactively report on progress of activities in groups.


• Develop close working relationships with various network teams.


• Present weekly reports of activities done to the line supervisor.


• Support and advise peer engineers with regards to technical and operational i

Desirable

• Knowledge of ZTE E flow operation


• Experience in vendor BBU, RTN and NR radio transmission nodes


• Experience of fixed lines CPE installation fundamentals


• Understanding of both PM and CM principles


• Good understanding of Microsoft reporting packages


• Age should not be more than 40 years

Competence Essential

• Minimum College Diploma /Higher Diploma in Electrical or Telecommunication Engineering.


• Knowledge of RAN/TX nodes


• Knowledge of 2G/3G/4G/5G networks


• Some years’ experience within mobile telephony including fixed-lines technologies


• Ability to co-operate and work with people from different cultures


• High level of interpersonal communication skills


• Independent, self-motivated and well organized


• Good knowledge of English both in written and spoke
