Role Overview:
The Imaging Technologist is responsible for operating imaging equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety and comfort. The role includes performing X-ray, ultrasound, CT, and MRI examinations in accordance with established protocols and radiation safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Imaging Procedures:
- Perform general radiography (X-ray), ultrasound, CT, and MRI examinations as prescribed by referring clinicians.
- Position patients accurately and select appropriate technical factors to obtain optimal image quality.
- Administer contrast media under the supervision of a radiologist where required.
- Assist radiologists during interventional or specialized imaging procedures.
Patient Care & Safety:
- Explain procedures to patients, addressing any concerns to alleviate anxiety.
- Implement radiation protection measures for patients, staff, and self in accordance with ALARA principles.
- Monitor patients during procedures and report any adverse reactions immediately.
Equipment Maintenance:
- Perform routine quality assurance checks on imaging equipment.
- Report equipment malfunctions and coordinate with service engineers for timely repairs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of imaging rooms and accessories.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Medical Radiography / Imaging Sciences from a recognized institution.
- Registered with the Allied Health Professionals Council with a valid practicing license.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a diagnostic imaging department.
- Competency in at least two modalities (X-ray, Ultrasound, CT, or MRI) is preferred.

- Strong technical knowledge of imaging equipment and protocols.
- Commitment to patient safety and radiation protection.
- Excellent attention to detail and image evaluation skills.
- Effective communication and patient-handling skills.
