Role Overview:


The Imaging Technologist is responsible for operating imaging equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety and comfort. The role includes performing X-ray, ultrasound, CT, and MRI examinations in accordance with established protocols and radiation safety standards.


Key Responsibilities:


Imaging Procedures:



  • Perform general radiography (X-ray), ultrasound, CT, and MRI examinations as prescribed by referring clinicians.

  • Position patients accurately and select appropriate technical factors to obtain optimal image quality.

  • Administer contrast media under the supervision of a radiologist where required.

  • Assist radiologists during interventional or specialized imaging procedures.


Patient Care & Safety:



  • Explain procedures to patients, addressing any concerns to alleviate anxiety.

  • Implement radiation protection measures for patients, staff, and self in accordance with ALARA principles.

  • Monitor patients during procedures and report any adverse reactions immediately.


Equipment Maintenance:



  • Perform routine quality assurance checks on imaging equipment.

  • Report equipment malfunctions and coordinate with service engineers for timely repairs.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of imaging rooms and accessories.


Qualifications & Experience:



  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Medical Radiography / Imaging Sciences from a recognized institution.

  • Registered with the Allied Health Professionals Council with a valid practicing license.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a diagnostic imaging department.

  • Competency in at least two modalities (X-ray, Ultrasound, CT, or MRI) is preferred.

  • Strong technical knowledge of imaging equipment and protocols.

  • Commitment to patient safety and radiation protection.

  • Excellent attention to detail and image evaluation skills.

  • Effective communication and patient-handling skills.
