Academic Qualifications:


Diploma in Diagnostic Ultrasound, Medical Imaging, or a related field from a recognized institution.


Professional Qualifications:


Valid registration and licensure with the Uganda Allied Health Professionals Council


Continuous Professional Development (CPD) credits in diagnostic sonography.


Experience:


At least 2 years of proven experience in a clinical setting performing various ultrasound procedures.


Experience in obstetric, abdominal, vascular, and musculoskeletal imaging is preferred.


Special Skills Needed:



  • Proficiency in using ultrasound equipment and other diagnostic imaging tools.

  • Strong understanding of anatomy, pathology, and imaging techniques.

  • Excellent communication and patient care skills.

  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and handle multiple cases.

  • Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.

  • Good teamwork and interpersonal skills.


Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures as ordered by physicians.

  • Prepare and position patients appropriately for imaging procedures.

  • Ensure quality control and maintenance of ultrasound equipment.

  • Accurately document and interpret sonographic findings.

  • Communicate results clearly to physicians and relevant healthcare staff.

  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to safety protocols.

  • Keep accurate records of all procedures performed.

  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities.

Medical Officer in Charge
