Our Client, a leading tax advisory consultancy firm providing compliance, customs and international tax advisory services to businesses operating locally and across borders.


They are seeking a Senior Tax Associate with strong experience in customs and international tax to support complex client engagements and business growth.


Role Overview


The Senior Tax Associate will play a key advisory role, supporting clients on customs, cross-border transactions, and international tax matters while ensuring strong tax compliance and risk management. The role involves hands-on advisory work, client engagement, and mentoring junior staff.


Key Responsibilities



  • Provide advisory support on customs duties, import/export taxes, and trade compliance

  • Advise clients on international tax matters, including cross-border transactions, permanent establishment risk, and withholding taxes

  • Conduct tax health compliance checks and risk assessments

  • Review and prepare tax computations and returns (Corporate tax, VAT, WHT, PAYE)

  • Support customs and tax audits, reviews, and objections

  • Liaise with tax and customs authorities on behalf of clients

  • Prepare advisory reports and practical recommendations

  • Guide and mentor junior tax associates


Qualifications & Experience



  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field

  • Professional qualification: CPA, ACCA, CTA, PODITRA or equivalent

  • Minimum 4–6 years’ experience in tax advisory, with strong exposure to: Customs and trade taxes, International and cross-border tax matters

  • Practical experience dealing with customs authorities and tax authorities

  • Strong understanding of corporate tax, VAT and withholding tax

  • Strong knowledge of customs law, international tax, and trade regulations

  • Ability to analyse cross-border transactions and identify tax and duty risks

  • Ability to interpret tax legislation and apply it to real business scenarios

  • Ability to explain complex tax issues in clear, practical language

  • Strong client relationship management skills

  • Commercial awareness and ability to align tax advice with business goals

  • High level of professional judgement and ethics


Execution & Team Skills



  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to manage multiple client assignments and deadlines

  • Confidence in leading engagements and mentoring junior staff

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
